How to use driving directions?

Can someone pls tell me how to use the driving directions feature?
Everytime I try to right clkick it - it says I must choose two contacts - how do you "choose" them in your contact listings so that the directions will come out. Looks like a great feature if I can figure it out!

Do so:
1. Select first contact
2. Press Ctrl key, hold it and click on second contact
As result you'll have 2 selected contacts
