View Full Version : Fatal Alert

I'm running AllTime 4.03 under a 30-day trial to see if it suits my work. However, I'm encountering a Fatal Alert on some previously entered Time Entries.

It occurs when the Ok button is pressed on a Time Entry that is considered to be "Last Week". The error is a Fatal Alert, DataMgr.c, Line: 7386, DmWrite: Dm Write Check failed. A reset is then required.

It does not happen if Cancel is pressed on the dialog and it makes no difference whether anything is actually changed on the dialog or not before pressing Ok.

At the moment, it only seems to be affecting entries from "Last Week" (Mon-Fri) in that entries I have created for Mon, Tues, and Wed of this week can be viewed and edited without problem.

Anyone any suggestions?

I'm running on a Sony Clie SJ30.

Thanks,

Andrew

Can't duplicate that here on my Tungsten|T.

Hope the Iambic folks catch and fix it for you. AT's a pretty handy app. I've been counting on it for years.

I had described a slightly different scanario for this failure in http://support.iambic.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=5458

Today while using it at a client site I did not even go to lasts weeks view I just scrolled down thru my list of entries, which is longer than 8, and it did the same hard stop. Argggh.

Still can't duplicate this one, but I was able to (almost) duplicate your other one.

I have not encountered this problem, however I have encountered a problem with v3 converted entries not passing the new validation test. Though AllTime is supposed to make sure all fields in converted records have corresponding validation records, it appears that is not always done... in my case it was auto and expense records without client entries. Now when I redisplay them if I tap Ok, it requires the fields to be filled in (Cancel lets me out without changing them).

Perhaps something similar is happening to you. I'd take a look at the new entry screen and note the red fields. Then I'd display a problem record and note its contents for the required fields. Cancel out, then display your validation tables and see if something is missing (or looks flakey).

I hope this helps.

I am having the same problems as Andrew. It is very frustrating to have to do a soft reset. I have not found a work around and it does this consistently with all entries I make.

Is there a fix, patch or upgrade?

I just purchased the upgrade last night and loaded onto my new Tungsten W. The timer does not work like before in v3 where you simply tap the clock in the list page and it starts/resumes/stops timing. It now opens the window, forcing me to hit the OK button and get the Fatal Alert.

Any immediate help is greatly appreciated.

Sorry for the inconvenience, it's fixed in this update http://www.iambic.com/download/palmos/alltime/alltime_en.zip
