BUG: Time Entry Details screen read-only

In 4.05 and 4.06, when I enter a time entry and go into the Details dialog, all the entries in the top half of the screen are read-only (Ref num, Status #1..Status #5, Private, Reported etc). I can't change them at all.

The items in the bottom half of the screen (Billing, Rate etc) can be changed.

This is for about 75% of time entries. In other entries I can change all items.

Palm IIIc, PalmOS 3.5.0.

I'm having this same problem with 4.10 on a Tungsten T3. Did you create a report of the records that you can't change? I created a report with Action set to Do Nothing. Now I can't change any checkboxes for those items, such as Reported or Private. I can change the Billing and Rate fields.

I'll have to test again with some new records to see if generating a report is what locks the Details or not.

I have never used the reporting feature, so it can't be related to that. I raised a bug with iambic but they can't duplicate it. But I found that it is related to the category selection. I have a few different categories defined. If I set the record to one specific category "Business", those fields become read only. If I set it to ANY other category, they become changeable again. Then if I set it "Business" again, they are read only. So my work-around is to change the category to change the entries.

I've since upgraded the OS to PalmOS 4.something and the problem is the same.
