Expense 'negative' values

In the Expense record screen only postive values can be entered it seems but not negative values. I realise that probably for most users this is not necessary, but I am trying to use the expense section for quotes and invoicing calculations. AllTime ties together the costing and time calculations nicely. The reason for negative values here for my requirements is to calculate discounts and coupons. Actually I don't expect to use it for expenses unless I figure out how to more easily allow for sales tax calculations.

I have PopCalc hack and interestingly can enter a negative value through it but not directly from the keyboard/Graffitti interface. Any suggestions? Thank you.
