Just a thought

Do you really feel it is necessary to review all posts before they are allowed to hit the forum? Are there really that many bad things posted here about Iambic? Since this forum is public and you are asking for the publics' opinion, isn't it rude to review and edit and even delete posts before they hit the forum?

I just ask these questions because it's a pain to wait hours for a post to hit and then hours more before someone's reply hits. In the long run it really slows down the echange of ideas and help that I think this forum is supposed to provide.

Again, just a thought

p. s. Will this make it to the board? If not I'd like to receive a response anyway. you have my email.

Hi,

yes I really feel it is necessary to review the posts on this forum. In fact, it seems to me that way too often constructive discussions, friendly bug reports and suggestions are replaced by other less constructive thoughts which don't help anyone, either inside or outside iambic.

Also, even the posts that are not let go public on this forum, are actually circulated internally, and we usually follow-up via email with the poster in order to better understand his/her issue with our software, and/or with our company practices.

for once I agree with moderation the way it's done here.
too many forums (vendor or simply 'fan') degenerate quite quickly, but here the discussion is always frank and honest (and from what I can see Iambic don't censor overmuch... quite a few of my very critical posts have come up intact... and been answered equally frankly by Iambic)... the delay often seems to make people think more about their post (and search for similar before just firing off a line)
I remember when these forums where not moderated, and it did often get out of control and buried under personal attacks and useless wastes of pixels...
And the moderators do a good job of getting posts released quickly.... I find it doesn't slow things down (if I've a problem I log a ticket... responses are quick there)
