Agendus for iPhone: more info on Calendar and Tasks here
I figured to put up a sticky here to address a number of questions along the lines of when / if Agendus iPhone will integrate calendaring capabilities and what's the plan for the tasks, so here you go with up-to-date info.
- Q: "Is Agendus for iPhone going to have Calendar integration and where are you on that?"
- A: Yes, it is going to. After much looking around for options, at least for the moment we decided to go for taking care of storing calendar data separate from the native iPhone Calendar app (also because no way to get to it, and unclear if/when Apple will ever allow that through one of the future SDK updates). Personally, not a fan of this solution, but all considered is probably the best we can shoot for.
It will synchronize with Google Calendar, OTA. And as much as possible it will be implemented to allow "easy switching" to pick up data from the native, upon availability.
As of what level of functionality, features, integration, this is being defined. As a start will include the basic views and most of the integration with other portions of the app you have been accustomed to.
Estimate on availability: Unknown (but we are talking about weeks, so not much far out in the future). Subscribe to this thread for news in the coming days.
- Q: "Are you going to expand on the tasks, allow syncing them in some way, etc.?"
- A: yes, but our first priority at this time is Calendar. Although Task syncing is in the planned features under research / definition.
Hope having cleared some of the doubts... I'm closing this thread just to avoid it to go off track. Please subscribe to it for updates, as we'll soon post up follow-ups here.
Thank you for your patience and understanding on this matter.
- Adriano
