Why doesn't Agendus for iPhone sync with my desktop calendar?
Solution P

At the time Agendus for iPhone was initially released Apple did not allow third-party access to the native iPhone/iPod Touch Calendar.  As of iPhone OS 3.x there are no third-party applications which are able to display data from the native iPhone calendar in order to display it. For this reason the calendar data in Agendus has to sync over the air to Google.

As for synchronizing with any desktop clients, such as Outlook or iCal, at the present time we are at a stage in which we are unable to proceed with adding desktop synchronization support for the calendar.  This is because we are waiting to see if Apple will remove this limitation, providing us access to the native databases.  Should this happen, desktop synchronization will be made simple.  If they were to continue preventing access, we still will make all efforts to add desktop synchronization, but will need to take a different approach.

Indications are that Apple will be unlocking the calendar data in version 4 of their software update. We are investigating a variety of options for desktop synchronization should this be the case.

*Notes for former Agendus for Palm OS users and/or current Outlook users:

If you have Outlook and/or a Palm Device and want to use Agendus for iPhone, read the steps below for getting your calendar data transferred:

- Uninstall and reinstall Palm Desktop Software and select Outlook as your default calendar.
- Once installed sync palm to Outlook.
- Once all calendar, tasks and contacts are in Outlook go to google and setup a google account for free.
- Next, download and install google calendar sync. http://www.google.com/support/calendar/bin/answer.py?answer=89955
- Enter in your new account login information for Google in the Google Sync settings in Outlook. (you should see a google icon on the lower right of your screen in the task bar)
- Sync Calendar to google.
- Next, set up iPod Touch/ iPhone to sync with Outlook contacts: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/HA102668021033.aspx
- Open Agendus on the Touch when completed with sync of Contacts.
- Open Agendus, go to preferences, sync setting and enter in Google info. Sync your calendar.
- After sync your calendar should be populated to Agendus and contacts should be showing as well.
- Next, observe the tasks in Outlook and enter those by hand. Do to limitations Apple has provided no way to sync tasks so they have to be entered by hand. We are working on other options for syncing tasks.
